This standard applies to the grading of natural unoptimized or heat-treated unmounted faceted polished sapphires. The grading of mounted faceted polished sapphires can be carried out in accordance with this standard.
This standard applies to the grading of blue sapphires. For sapphires of other colors, the grading can be carried out in accordance with this standard except for the color aspect.
