Scope

This standard is one of a series of standards related to the sampling and testing of color paints, varnishes, and related products. This standard specifies a test method for measuring the resistance to damage of a single layer or a composite coating system of color paints or related products under standard conditions, after they have been fully dried within a specified drying time. The test is conducted by placing two painted surfaces or a painted surface and another surface in contact under pressure after they have been dried. The purpose of this standard is to simulate the conditions in which painted objects are stacked on top of each other.
