Scope

This standard defines the terms and definitions of recycled cotton, semi-finished products, yarns, fabrics, and their inspections in the cotton textile industry. The standard mainly includes the following terms: -- Recycled cotton: various waste cotton generated during the cotton processing. -- Semi-finished products: products from the cleaning to spinning stages, including cotton rolls, cotton bales, coarse yarns, and fine yarns. -- Yarns: finished yarns produced by cotton spinning equipment, including singles and plied yarns. -- Fabrics: fabrics made primarily from cotton or cotton-like synthetic fibers, including woven and knitted fabrics. -- Inspection: performance tests and defect terminology specific to cotton textile products. This standard does not include terms for raw materials before entering the textile factory, nor does it cover products such as garments and household textiles made from cotton fabrics through sewing processing. The standard applies to all types of cotton textile products.
