Scope
This standard specifies the terminology definitions, order content, dimensions, shapes, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and packaging, marking, and quality certificates for steel used in mooring chains of grades R3, R3S, R4, R4S, and R5. This standard applies to hot-rolled round steel used in mooring chains of 30 mm to 250 mm for floating production systems, semi-submersible drilling platforms, single-point mooring structures, floating production and storage vessels, and other marine development facilities used in offshore oil exploration.
