Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for the isolation and identification of swine influenza viruses, hemagglutination (HA) and hemagglutination inhibition (HI) tests, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), etc. The techniques for the isolation and identification of swine influenza viruses specified in this standard are applicable to the pathogen isolation and identification of H1 subtype swine influenza viruses and H3 subtype swine influenza viruses; the hemagglutination (HA) and hemagglutination inhibition (HI) tests are applicable to the subtype identification of the hemagglutinin of swine influenza viruses; and the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) are applicable to the subtype-specific testing of H1 subtype swine influenza viruses and H3 subtype swine influenza viruses.
