Scope

This document describes the ultrasonic detection method for residual stress based on body wave measurement, and specifies the detection system, detection process, temperature compensation and correction, as well as the detection report for the body wave method.
This document is applicable to the detection of residual stress in metal components with an acoustic attenuation of no less than 6 dB/m. For other non-metallic materials, the method can be implemented with reference to this document.
