Scope

This standard is applicable to the determination of vanillin (3-methoxy-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde), ethylvanillin (3-ethoxy-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde), ethyl maltol (2-ethyl-3-hydroxy-4-pyrone), thiamazole (4-methyl-5-(β-hydroxyethyl)thiazole), 2-hexenal, and coconut aldehyde (γ-nonalactone) in mixed feed additives (feed flavoring agents). The method has a quantitative limit of 0.05 g/kg.
