Scope

1.1 This standard specifies the determination of the purity of industrial butadiene and the content of hydrocarbon impurities, including propane, propylene, isobutane, n-butane, butadiene, acetylene, cis-2-butene, isobutene, 1-butene, trans-2-butene, isopentane, n-pentane, 1,2-butadiene, propargyne, and 1-butynyl acetylene, using gas chromatography. This standard is applicable to the determination of hydrocarbon impurities in industrial butadiene with a content not less than 0.0003% (by mass) and samples with a purity greater than 98% (by mass).
