Scope

This document specifies the determination of the purity of industrial butadiene and hydrocarbon impurities such as ethane, ethylene, propane, propylene, acetylene, isobutane, n-butane, dibutene, cis-2-butene, trans-2-butene, isopentane, n-pentane, propargane, 1-butene, cis-2-butene, 1-butynyl acetylene, and 1,2-dibutene by gas chromatography. This document is applicable to the determination of hydrocarbon impurities in industrial butadiene with a content not less than 0.0003% (by mass) and a purity greater than 98% (by mass). Unless otherwise specified, the industrial butadiene and butadiene in this document refer to 1,3-butadiene.
