Basic Information
Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the determination methods and result presentation methods for the macroscopic and microscopic average grain size of high-temperature alloy castings, the grain size of columnar crystals, the average spacing of columnar crystals and single-crystal primary dendrites, and the determination of microscopic porosity.
1.2 This standard is applicable to the determination of grain size in ordinary precision castings and directionally solidified columnar crystal castings; the determination of the spacing of primary dendrites in directionally solidified columnar crystal and single-crystal castings; and the determination of microscopic porosity in ordinary precision castings and directionally solidified columnar crystal and single-crystal castings.
1.3 This standard is only a recommended determination method and does not stipulate the acceptable quality level range for acceptance testing of high-temperature alloy castings.
