Scope

This standard addresses the basic hazards arising from the high-speed cutting (cutting at very high circumferential speeds) of milling cutters (such as those in accordance with GB/T 21019) on metal cutting machines, and specifies safety requirements.
This standard prescribes design methods, centrifugal force test procedures, operating limits, and information provision to minimize or completely eliminate these hazards.
This standard applies to milling cutters operating at the speeds shown in Figures 1 and 2.
These diagrams specify the speed limits and circumferential speed limits for the respective milling cutter diameters, respectively.
