Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, storage, transportation, and quality specifications for coke blocks used in smelting furnaces and self-baked coke blocks. This document is applicable to coke blocks used in smelting furnaces that are lined with insulation materials, such as ferroalloy furnaces, calcium carbide furnaces, and yellow phosphorus furnaces, as well as self-baked coke blocks used in the bottom and molten pool linings of calcium carbide furnaces.
