Scope

This standard includes the determination of the vapor pressure of pure liquids, the vapor pressure of mixtures (in a closed tube, filled to 40% ± 5%), and the initial thermal decomposition temperature of pure liquids and mixtures. This standard is applicable to the determination of the vapor pressure of liquids in borosilicate bottles at test temperatures ranging from 133 Pa to 101.3 kPa. The temperature range of this test method is from ambient temperature to 748 K. If a suitable constant-temperature bath is provided, the temperature range can also be lower than ambient temperature.
