Scope
This standard specifies the tensile test method for metal pipe rings, in which the specimen is stretched until it breaks, thereby exposing the surface and internal defects of the specimen. This standard can also be used to evaluate the ductility of metal pipes.
This standard is applicable to metal pipes with an outer diameter greater than 150 mm, a wall thickness not exceeding 40 mm, and an inner diameter greater than 100 mm.
