Scope

This guidance technical document specifies the basic guidelines for the control and protection equipment in the ±800 kV ultra-high voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission system in terms of scientific research, design, manufacturing, testing, and the design of the secondary circuit of the converter station, for the relevant departments to abide by together, and can also be used as a reference for construction and operation departments.
This guidance technical document is applicable to the control and protection equipment of the ±800 kV ultra-high voltage direct current transmission system. The control and protection equipment of the DC transmission system with a voltage level below ±800 kV using a series structure of two 12-pulse converters per pole can also be implemented with reference to this document.
