GB/T 12164.1-2008 Reference beta radiations—Part 1:Methods of production
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 12164 specifies the requirements for beta reference radiation fields generated by radioactive nuclide sources. It provides examples of the characteristics of these radioactive nuclides and appropriate source structures, and describes the measurement methods for the maximum residual energy of beta particles and the dose equivalent rate at a depth of 0.07 mm in the ICRU sphere. The energy range is 66 keV1) to 3.6 MeV, and the dose equivalent rate ranges from approximately 10 μSv·h-1 to at least 10 Sv·h-1. In addition, some changes in the source dose equivalent rate with the incident angle are also given. This part is applicable to the calibration of personal and site dose (rate) meters for determining Hp(0.07) and H′(0.07), as well as the determination of their energy response and angular response.
