Scope

This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of gamma ray flaw detectors (hereinafter referred to as gamma ray flaw detectors). This standard does not specify the measurement and reading system of gamma ray flaw detectors and its requirements. This standard applies to flaw detectors that use gamma rays emitted by sealed radioactive sources for industrial radiographic testing. This standard does not apply to gamma ray flaw detectors designed for special purposes.
