Scope
This part of GB/T 14055 specifies the neutron reference radiation used for calibrating neutron measurement instruments for radiation protection and determining their energy response, with an energy range from thermal energy to 20 MeV. When the neutron energy is 1 MeV, the neutron flux rate reaches 1×109 m-2·s-1, which corresponds to a dose equivalent rate of 100 mSv·h-1. This part only deals with the generation method and characteristics of neutron reference radiation. ISO 85292 and ISO 85293 specify the method of calibrating with these reference radiations.
