Scope

This document provides general requirements and guidelines for collecting and maintaining IT project data, as well as delivering benchmark data for benchmarking activities within the "IT Project Performance Benchmarking Framework": a) Requirements and guidelines for defining data elements; b) Requirements and guidelines for the data collection and maintenance process within the benchmarking framework; c) Requirements and guidelines for maintaining benchmarking data warehouse products and published benchmarks. This document primarily focuses on three key activities: "maintaining the data warehouse," "submitting IT project data," and "benchmarking IT projects." It is intended for use by stakeholders in IT project performance benchmarking, such as benchmarking users, benchmark providers, benchmarking service providers, and IT project teams. Note: Examples of how this document can be used include: - Defining data elements, collecting and maintaining IT project data, and providing benchmarking data warehouse products or published benchmarks by benchmark providers; - Using benchmarking data warehouse products and/or benchmarks to perform benchmarking by benchmarking analysis parties; - Providing benchmarking services using benchmarking data warehouse products and/or benchmarks by benchmarking service providers; - Defining data elements to be measured and/or submitted to data warehouse owners by IT service providers. The definition, format, or content of specific data elements in the benchmarking data warehouse are beyond the scope of this document.
