Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, models, usage conditions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of non-metallic low-voltage energy metering boxes (hereinafter referred to as metering boxes). This standard applies to non-metallic low-voltage energy metering boxes with a transparent polycarbonate (PC) cover and a non-transparent polycarbonate (or flame-retardant ABS engineering plastic) base, injection-molded for use with power supply lines of AC 50 Hz, rated voltage 220 V/380 V, and rated current (1 A to 450 A). This standard does not apply to metal-structured energy metering boxes (cabinets).
