Scope

This standard specifies the basic principles, safety assessment procedures, content, methods, and risk identification, risk level assessment, risk reduction measures, and determination principles for comprehensive conclusions of the safety performance of in-service traction elevators (hereinafter referred to as safety assessment). This standard applies to the safety assessment of in-service traction elevators, but does not apply to the safety assessment of forced-drive elevators, hydraulic elevators, freight elevators, escalators, and moving walkways.
