Scope
This standard specifies the tooth angle of 60°, the tooth profile, basic dimensions, tolerances, and markings of metric sealing threads. There are two types of internal threads: conical internal threads and cylindrical internal threads, while there is only one type of external thread: conical external threads. Internal and external threads can form two types of sealing fits: a "cone/cone" fit between conical internal threads and conical external threads; and a "cylinder/cone" fit between cylindrical internal threads and conical external threads. This standard applies to general sealing thread connections on products such as pipes, valves, pipe fittings, and plug valves. When assembling, it is recommended to add suitable sealing media, such as sealing tape and sealing glue, into the thread pair.
