Scope

Scope: This document specifies the technical requirements for pepper seedling production, including timing, nursery site selection, seedling facilities and equipment, substrate, sowing, seedling management, pest and disease prevention, and production records. This document applies to pepper seedling production techniques. Main technical content: 1. Terms and definitions: There are no terms or definitions requiring definition in this document. 2. Sowing time: For spring cultivation, seeds are sown from late January to mid-February; for autumn-winter cultivation, seeds are sown from June to August. 3. Nursery site selection: The environment of the nursery site should meet the requirements of NY/T 5010, and the irrigation water should comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T 5084. 4. Seedling facilities and equipment: - Greenhouses should include sprinkler irrigation systems, cooling systems, and shading systems, and should be equipped with walkways and drainage systems compatible with seedling beds. - Sowing machines. - Mobile or fixed seedling beds with a height of 65 cm, a width of approximately 1.7 m, and a length determined by the length of the facility. - Cell trays should be made of high-quality polystyrene plastic with sufficient durability and quality. Different sizes of trays should be used according to the amount of seedlings. 5. Substrate: The substrate should meet the requirements of NY/T 2118 and be free of harmful substances and pathogens. It can also be prepared by mixing fully composted manure and soil from fields that have not been cultivated with solanaceae crops within the past 2-3 years in a ratio of 1:2–3 and thoroughly mixing them.
