Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, testing conditions, testing methods, and testing rules for the detection of compensation devices in low-voltage distribution lines. This standard applies to the type testing, factory testing, and spot-check testing of compensation devices installed in low-voltage distribution systems with an AC frequency of 50 Hz and a nominal voltage of 0.4 kV in power systems, which are used to compensate for reactive power in the grid, compensate for three-phase load imbalance in the line, improve the supply voltage and power factor, and reduce power loss in the grid.
