Scope

This standard specifies the emission smoke limits, measurement methods, and result evaluation for diesel engines used in off-road machinery. This standard applies to diesel engines for off-road machinery with a rated net power of not more than 560 kW, auxiliary power diesel engines installed in vehicles used for passenger or cargo transportation on roads, and diesel engines for ships with a power of less than 37 kW.
