GB/T 26169-2010 Electrical insulating materials—Method to evaluate the resistance to tracking and erosion—Rotating wheel dip test
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies a test method for comparing the performance of insulating materials that are subjected to intermittent exposure to liquid contaminants and simultaneously subjected to AC electrical stress on their surfaces. Materials compared by means of electrical tracking and electrical erosion tests must be of the same type, so the comparison of test results for different types of materials may not be entirely effective.
A round rod or round tube standard specimen is mounted on the rotating wheel of the test device, with electrodes installed at both ends of the specimen, which is located on the outer circle of the rotating wheel. The rotating wheel rotates slowly at a very small angle to the horizontal plane, so that the specimen can be repeatedly immersed in and removed from a saltwater solution (contaminant).
