LY/T 2279-2019 Forest certification in China—Wildlife husbandry and management

Scope

This standard specifies the general requirements for the management system of wildlife breeding, as well as key elements, critical control points, and compliance requirements such as personnel, facilities and equipment, breeding inputs, breeding and utilization, animal health, and management system documents, and proposes inspection and improvement methods.
This standard applies to wildlife breeding and utilization units such as zoos, wildlife parks, and wildlife breeding farms in establishing and implementing a wildlife breeding management system, and maintaining and continuously improving the suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness of the breeding management system.
This standard also applies to certification bodies accredited by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) in conducting conformity assessments of wildlife breeding management systems, certifying that wildlife breeding and utilization units:
a) comply with the requirements of current laws and regulations in China for wildlife breeding management activities;
b) meet the sustainability requirements of the wildlife breeding management system;
c) comply with the requirements of this standard for the wildlife breeding management process.
Note 1: In this standard, "units" all refer to wildlife breeding and utilization units.
Note 2: In this standard, "breeding management systems" all refer to sustainable wildlife breeding management systems.
Note 3: In this standard, "animals" all refer to wildlife.
