Scope

This standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, labels and user manuals, packaging, transportation, and storage of insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-1) assay kits.
This standard applies to immunoassay kits used for quantitative determination of IGF-1 based on the principle of double antibody sandwich assay, including those using enzyme labeling, (electro) chemiluminescence labeling, and (time-resolved) fluorescence labeling methods.
This standard does not apply to: semi-quantitative IGF-1 assay kits labeled with colloidal gold or other methods (such as test strips, etc.); various radioimmunoassay or immunoradiometric assay kits for IGF-1 labeled with radioactive isotopes such as 125I.
