Scope

This standard applies to DC bridges used for measuring resistance, and also to the auxiliary equipment included in the bridge. This standard does not apply to bridge comparators 1), automatic balancing bridges, and bridges that use the zero indicator scale to obtain partial readings, nor does it apply to external auxiliary equipment used with the bridge.
