Scope

This standard specifies the methods for planting disease plots for identifying resistance to Fusarium solani in corn stem rot, isolating fungal strains, culturing and propagating fungal strains, inoculation, management, investigation and recording, and resistance evaluation. This standard is applicable to field identification and evaluation of the resistance of self-pollinating lines, hybrid varieties, populations, open-pollinated varieties, as well as wild corn and corn relatives to Fusarium solani in corn stem rot during the cultivation of Zea mays L.
