Scope

This standard specifies the determination method and grading terminology and definitions of water vapor permeability of exterior wall coatings, as well as the principles, instruments and materials, test specimens, procedures, result presentation, accuracy, grading, and test reports.
This standard is applicable to exterior wall coatings used on porous substrates such as bricks, stones, and concrete in industrial and civil buildings.
This standard is not applicable to products that do not form a film or affect the porosity of porous substrates.
