Scope
This section specifies a standardized method of describing process control devices, instrumentation, auxiliary equipment, and their operating environments and requirements (such as measurement point data specifications). The standard aims to: define a common language for users and suppliers through the publication of LOPs (Logical Operating Profiles), optimize workflows (such as engineering design, development, and procurement) between users and suppliers and within their respective organizations, and reduce transaction costs. This section uses structured attribute lists to describe industrial process devices and their categories, while also leveraging relevant attributes in the component-based data dictionary. The goal is to generate a reference dictionary based on attribute lists, which can be used for external inquiries, quotations, internal company use, or other activities requiring the description of process control systems, instrumentation, and auxiliary equipment.
