Scope

This standard specifies the methods for measuring and evaluating gas and particulate emissions on a test bench under steady-state operating conditions of reciprocating internal combustion engines, in order to determine the weighted values of each exhaust pollutant. Various combinations of engine loads and speeds reflect the different uses of the engine.
This standard applies to marine reciprocating internal combustion engines installed on small boats with a hull length of no more than 24 m.
