GB/T 16783.1-2025 Petroleum and natural gas industries—Field testing of drilling fluids—Part 1:Water-based fluids

Scope

This document specifies the on-site testing procedures for water-based drilling fluids:
a) drilling fluid density;
b) viscosity and shear stress;
c) filtration loss;
d) water, oil, and solid phase content;
e) sand content;
f) methylene blue capacity;
g) pH value;
h) alkalinity and lime content;
i) chloride ion content;
j) total hardness measured in terms of calcium ions;
k) lubrication coefficient and mudcake adhesion coefficient.
This document is applicable to on-site testing of water-based drilling fluids.
