Scope

This document specifies the product classification, technical requirements, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of biomanufactured lactide products, and describes the corresponding test methods.
This document applies to left-handed lactide (L-lactide), right-handed lactide (D-lactide), or racemic lactide (Meso-lactide) produced by biomanufacturing using L-lactic acid or D-lactic acid as raw materials, followed by processes such as oligomerization-cyclization-depolymerization, lactic acid (ester) cyclization in one step, or polymer cyclization-depolymerization, as well as purification processes. The chemical structure is shown in Figure 1.
