Scope

This document specifies the classification, requirements, and test methods for transparent or solid doors/lids of horizontal enclosed ice cream freezers that open from the top.
This document applies to portable ice cream freezers that use natural convection air cooling, cabinet wall evaporators (without evaporator fans), and are specifically designed for the storage and display of pre-packaged ice cream, with a net volume not exceeding 600 liters.
This document only applies to portable refrigeration systems. It does not apply to supermarket segmented combination freezers, transparent door/lid ice cream freezers with a net volume to total display area ratio of less than 0.35 m, remote-mounted ice cream freezers, or ice cream freezers that use secondary refrigerants.
