Scope

This standard specifies the ordering information, quality assurance, chemical composition, tensile properties, overall quality, final processing, inspection, rejection, quality certificates, product marking, and packaging requirements for magnesium alloy forgings.
This standard applies to free forgings and die forgings of magnesium alloys. The chemical composition range is provided in Appendix A.
