Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, and contractual content for magnesium alloy sacrificial anodes (hereinafter referred to as magnesium anodes).
This standard applies to magnesium anodes produced by casting or extrusion methods for cathodic protection of metal facilities (primarily steel) operating in media such as soil, freshwater, and seawater.
