GB/T 45001-2020 Occupational health and safety management systems—Requirements with guidance for use

Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system and provides guidance on its use, enabling organizations to provide a safe and healthy workplace by preventing work-related injuries and health hazards and actively improving their occupational health and safety performance.
This standard applies to any organization that wishes to:
- Improve health and safety by establishing, implementing, and maintaining an occupational health and safety management system;
- Eliminate hazards and minimize occupational health and safety risks (including system deficiencies) by proactively improving its occupational health and safety performance;
- Utilize occupational health and safety opportunities;
- Address non-conformities with its occupational health and safety management system related to its activities.
This standard helps organizations achieve the intended results of their occupational health and safety management system. In accordance with the organization's occupational health and safety policy, the intended results of its occupational health and safety management system include:
a) Continuously improving occupational health and safety performance;
b) Meeting legal and regulatory requirements and other requirements;
c) Achieving occupational health and safety objectives.
This standard applies to organizations of all sizes, types, and activities. It applies to occupational health and safety risks under the organization's control, which must take into account factors such as the environment in which the organization operates, the needs and expectations of its workers and other interested parties.
This standard does not specify specific occupational health and safety performance criteria nor does it provide design specifications for an occupational health and safety management system.
