Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, symbols and abbreviations, order content, raw materials and manufacturing processes, material requirements, dimensions, unit length quality, defects and pipe end processing, inspection and testing, test methods, non-destructive testing, invalid tests, reinspection, marking, packaging and protection, and documents for continuous tubing used in well repair, well logging, drilling, and completion operations during oil and gas well drilling and extraction, with an outer diameter of 19.1 mm to 88.9 mm and a steel grade of CT55 to CT110. (In this standard, it is also referred to as "steel pipe"). This standard does not include the suitability of continuous tubing for use in corrosive environments.
