Scope
This standard specifies the application and criteria for extending the validity of type tests for AC metal-enclosed switchgear and control equipment with a rated voltage of 3.6 kV to 40.5 kV, as well as the general method for extending the validity of type tests.
This standard applies to AC metal-enclosed switchgear and control equipment with a rated voltage of 3.6 kV to 40.5 kV as specified in GB/T 3906—2020, as well as other equipment in the same enclosure that may potentially affect each other.
This standard applies to the validity of type tests conducted on a sample with a specific set of rated values, extending to other complete switchgear sets within the same family that have different rated values or different component arrangements.
Note: In order to conduct consistent conformity assessments and optimize type tests, this standard supports the selection of typical test samples composed of functional units of switchgear and control equipment within the same family. This standard combines mature technical and physical principles, manufacturers' and users' experience with calculations to establish guidelines for extending the validity of type tests to cover a wide range of designs and rated values.
