GB/T 42552.1-2023 Acoustics—Laboratory measurement of the reduction of transmitted impact noise by floor coverings on a small floor mock-up—Part 1:Heavyweight compact floor
Basic Information
Scope
This document describes a laboratory method for measuring the improvement in impact sound of floor coverings on standard concrete floor slabs when excited by a standard impactor.
This method is only applicable to measuring the "local" transmission of impact sound from soft and flexible floor coverings. Such locally responsive floor coverings transmit impact sound downward in the area immediately adjacent to the excitation point, so the size of the specimen has no impact on the test results. Locally responsive floor coverings include soft flooring materials such as carpets, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) flooring, and floor mats.
This document only deals with noise radiation measurement and does not involve subjective grading of the quality of floor coverings.
Compared with the method specified in ISO 10140 (all parts), the deviation between the measurement results of the two methods within the measurement frequency range is generally within the measurement uncertainty range. If there are significant differences between the measurement results of the two methods, the results measured according to ISO 10140 (all parts) shall prevail.
This document provides a measurement method. The technical requirements for the specimens (e.g., temperature range, number of specimens, or specimen installation conditions, etc.) are generally further specified by product testing procedures.
Note: If the specimens being tested are not soft materials, such as those with sandwich structures, the deviation between the test results and those measured according to ISO 10140 (all parts) may increase, as the test results are related to the size of the specimens.
