This document describes the physical and chemical selective separation methods of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICPOES) and atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) for determining the nickel and cobalt content in six mineral phases of copper-nickel sulfide ores, including magnetic sulfide phase, magnetic non-sulfide phase, sulfate phase, non-magnetic sulfide phase, oxide phase, and soluble and insoluble gangue phase. This document is applicable to the determination of nickel and cobalt content in six mineral phases of copper-nickel sulfide ores, including native ores and oxidized ores, including magnetic sulfide phase, magnetic non-sulfide phase, sulfate phase, non-magnetic sulfide phase, oxide phase, and soluble and insoluble gangue phase.
