Scope

This standard specifies the measurement method for handle vibration of portable hand-operated forestry and gardening machinery powered by internal combustion engines.
This standard applies to portable forestry and gardening machinery such as chainsaws (except for high-handle chainsaws), brush cutters, lawn mowers, pole-type power pruning saws, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers/leaf suction machines.
Although the measurement method specified in this standard obtains data under simulated actual machine operation conditions, these data are very close to the actual results and represent the characteristics of the machine when it is actually in operation.
