Scope

This standard specifies the method of designating the grades of structural steel for bridges, the content of orders, dimensions, shapes, weights, and allowable deviations, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and quality certificates.
This standard applies to structural steel plates and steel strips for bridges with a thickness of not more than 100 mm, and structural steel shapes for bridges with a thickness of not more than 40 mm.
