Scope

This standard specifies the principles, instruments and equipment, sample extraction and preparation, analysis steps, and determination basis of the technical appraisal method for fire evidence of immersion resistance heaters.
This standard is applicable to identifying the relationship between the state of the heater and the cause of the fire based on the microscopic morphology and metal element composition of the surface of the resistance wire inside the heater when investigating the cause of fires involving immersion resistance heaters. It is applicable to resistance heaters with aluminum (Al), chromium (Cr), and iron (Fe) as the metal components of the resistance wire and quartz sand as the filler material. Other filler materials can be referred to for implementation.
