Scope

Scope: This standard specifies the source characteristics, production performance, and grade evaluation of Adou meat sheep. This standard applies to the identification and grade evaluation of Adou meat sheep. Main technical content: Adou meat sheep are a crossbred breed developed in Alashan League. The local Mongolian sheep are used as the first dam, and early-maturing, polygamous Small-tailed Changsheep are introduced as the sire for hybrid improvement. Among the hybrid offspring, ideal female sheep with large body size, rapid development, and high fertility are selected as the second dam. Australian White-headed Dorper sheep are introduced as the sire for progressive crossbreeding. Once the ideal phenotype emerges, crossbreeding between ideal individuals, fixed crossbreeding, and selective breeding are carried out in a timely manner to form the final breed.
