GB/T 5703-2023 Basic human body measurements for technological design

Scope

This document provides basic measurement items for the construction of human measurement databases (see GB/T 22187) and the comparison of human measurement data among different groups.
The basic items specified in this document are designed to provide services to ergonomics experts, helping them measure populations and apply the relevant knowledge to the design of products and people's daily work and living spaces. In addition, the basic items specified in this document are also used to extract one-dimensional and two-dimensional human measurement data from 3D scanned images (see GB/T 23698).
This document is applicable to the acquisition of human measurement data and to providing ergonomics experts and designers with information on anatomical basics, human measurement basics, and measurement principles needed to solve design tasks.
This document is used to ensure the consistency of human measurements among different groups and organizations, as well as the comparability of measurement results. For various applications, it is advisable to add some specific measurement items beyond the list of basic items in this document.
Note: Appendix A provides relevant terms (including measurement marking points and measurement items) for human measurement projects recommended beyond the list of basic items.
