GB/T 20146-2006 CIE standard illuminants for colorimetry
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies two illuminants used in colorimetry. The illuminants defined in Chapters 4 and 5 are described as follows: a) CIE Standard Illuminant A This illuminant is used to represent ordinary household tungsten filament lighting, with a relative spectral energy distribution identical to that of a Planckian radiator at a temperature of approximately 2,856 K. CIE Standard Illuminant A is applied to all aspects of colorimetry involving incandescent lighting, except when there are special reasons to use a different illuminant. b) CIE Standard Illuminant D65 This illuminant is used to represent average daylight and has a correlated color temperature of approximately 6,500 K. CIE Standard Illuminant D65 is applied to all colorimetric calculations requiring typical daylight, unless there are special reasons to use a different illuminant. It is known that the relative spectral energy distribution of daylight varies with the season, the time of day, and geographical location, particularly in the ultraviolet spectral region. Despite this, in
