本文件确立了单个渐开线圆柱齿轮及扇形齿轮的径向综合偏差的公差分级制，规定了径向综合偏差的定义、公差分级制的结构和偏差允许值，提供了单个产品齿轮与码特齿轮双面啮合时径向综合偏差的公差计算公式，但没有提供公差表。本文件适用于齿数不小于3、分度圆直径不大于600 mm的齿轮。本文件不提供齿轮的设计指导，也不推荐齿轮参数的公差。
